Local police launched Cartagena, between 7 and 16 February, a campaign of controls night in Campo de Cartagena with the aim of intensifying the fight against theft and pilferage of goods and agricultural material, produced isolated agricultural areas, as reported by the council of Public Safety, Javier Herrero.
The campaign, which has oversight of more than fifty points in strategic areas by vehicles, controlling the transfer and rural roads, plus entries and exits of the population centers of the councils of La Puebla, La Aparecida, La Palma, Pozo Estrecho, The Aljorra, The Albujón, Miranda, Santa Ana, El Algar, Los Belones o Beal.
Moreover, these controls are in addition to the annual campaign to rural phone launched in January 2010, in which there were a total of 1,136 controls, in which 5993 vehicles were tested and resulted in the identification of more than 9,000 people.
Smith pointed out that this action was the implementation of a single telephone number for receiving calls and immediate response in case of theft or any other event of the rural area, in order to deter and prevent such theft.
