Total investment in the Ministry of Development is nearly 2,000,000 euros
The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, and the head of the Demarcation of Roads, Ángel García Garay, this morning visited the expansion work to two lanes of the branch that links the A-30 with the CT- 32 sense Cartagena-La Manga.
This action will prevent the next summer occurring in Cartagena withholding output at peak times.
These works represent an investment by the Ministry of Development of 203,000 euros and will have an approximate length of 600 meters, although affected 977 meters of highway (between the kilometer 190 +400 of the A-30 and 3 +550 to CT-32), since it also includes the extended mix asphalt wedges transition.
Lead time is three months.
This action falls back on the improvements carried out by the Demarcation of the State Highway at the entrance to Cartagena, which complements the expansion work on the third rail link to La Manga with the Port of Cartagena, completed in April 2010 and had an amount of 1,769,100 euros.
With this work, the investment in the region rises to almost 2 billion euros.
These works have improved the circulatory flow of the highway, the virtual disappearance of the input queues to Cartagena, and a drastic decrease of 93% of accidents on the approaches to the city.
Thus, since the enlargement of the third lane, it was found that of 16 injury accidents recorded in 2007, it fell to 10 in 2008, 4 in 2009 and only 1 in 2010.
