The Castillito of Sorrows, which will house the base of the local police in the neighborhood, is undergoing an arduous rehabilitation work by a group of restaurateurs whose objective is to recover the significant architectural elements that once formed part of this edificiación.
Preliminary work began in November and the restorers are now trying to focus on the interior of the building, a task that will take place in three phases.
The first, lasting one and a half, is consisting of starting the moldings of the ceiling, in a second phase, will play in a workshop by molds.
The last phase of restoration will take care of the paintings, most damaged and difficult to recover from the damage and graffiti that have been made about them.
A team of three people responsible for these tasks.
The rehabilitation works will focus on all interior and exterior carpentry, according to existing models, doors, windows and interior baseboards, ceilings, moldings, replacing lost items and drawings, the placement of decorative artificial stone the facade and replacement of guardrail and other decorative elements zinc, lead and iron that had disappeared.
Upon completion of the work, probably post-summer, the building will resume its journey, but this time as the basis of the local police in Los Dolores, with 25 players who are currently covered by a mobile patrol, other populations as the Aljorra, The Albujón and Miranda.
This is the fourth stable base of local police that the City opens in districts and councils, after the Cabo de Palos, El Algar and Pozo Estrecho.
BUILDING A HISTORY
The Castillito of Sorrows was commissioned for over a hundred years by a highly respected businessman, Pedro Conesa, Marquis de Fuente Sun, as a gift for her granddaughter.
The villa was a dollhouse for his granddaughter's game, then became the residence of that when he grew up.
It is a building of exoticism, where the different elements that make up the set, create an atmosphere of pre-modernist fantasy that also has an underground tunnel that will connect you to the main dwelling much simpler style and now totally destroyed, to the right of the property.
And the garden surrounding the villa, large and abundant vegetation, banks had chopped very colorful tiles, probably added after the main building.
