Cartagena City Council has taken to hiring the conversion work of the current Primary Care Clinic Barrio de la Concepción in Cartagena Health Center-West, based on the collaboration agreement between the Autonomous Community of Murcia Region through Ministry of Health.
This project represents an investment of EUR 2,237,931 and the contract will have a lead time of 18 months.
The current primary care clinic, located in the Calle de la Rosa del Barrio de la Concepción, was inaugurated in April 2008 with an investment of 1,400,000 euros and expected to serve 7,000 people.
The current building is located in a city-owned plot of 3,700 sqm, which is built 857 meters distributed on the ground floor, but its design was projected considering extending through accessory modules.
This expansion will be a reality in the coming months to construct a total area of 2,220 square meters, in which there are four accessory modules, three longitudinally extending the existing first floor and a new module connected by a walkway also first floor level.
Thus, the current facilities on two levels, located on the first floor of the main entrance to the building, all health care services and on the ground floor will practice with regard to internal services such as warehouses, and staff
In the design of future health center has also taken account of adapting the building to the accessibility of all users, by building bridges to promote the integration of the disabled or elderly.
Infrastructure works of the plot also take into account both building new modules as the empowerment of circulation areas and parking.
Enlargement "N SERVICES
The center currently offers the services of Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Nursing, Radiology, Gynecological Support Unit, Physiotherapy, collection of samples, Dentistry, Oral Health Unit, Matron and Social worker.
With the new modules will be expanded the number of queries of Pediatrics and Dentistry, Physiotherapy and Family Medicine, and introducing new services such as care for women and minor surgery.
The new Health Centre will be the reference of the Cartagena West, currently covered by the Health Center Our Lady of Charity, (who also serves Cartagena-East), and the two existing clinics (Barrio de la Concepción and Barrio de Villalba.)
PEDESTRIAN ACCESS GATEWAY Concepció BARRIO "N
The construction of the pedestrian walkway four feet wide, connecting the street Luis Calandre with the new Health Centre is now virtually complete.
