Local police offered on Monday, 24 a talk on security led to the Association of Senior Volunteers, a program performance for the Protection of Victims driven by Department of Safety and Social Care
Ensure the care and safety of the elderly is the goal that starts the program to protect our elders, developing the Local Police in collaboration with the departments of Safety and Social Services of the City of Cartagena.
Among the specific activities of this project, local police offered a talk on security led to the Senior Volunteer Association to be held on Monday 24 January at 10.00 am in Local seniors Calle Juan Fernandez.
This conference aims to know the major actions of the police and the tools at their disposal if they are victims of abuse or crime.
The talk will focus on methods to prevent antisocial behavior that take advantage of the vulnerability of the elderly and to teach more than the main tool to control the abuse is self-protection.
The program will protect our elders also includes home visits at least once a week, to check the status of people living alone and who voluntarily have been included in the program.
Also, help raise awareness to the residents of these people to collaborate in their care and reduce the level of vulnerability, as well as to inform social services and health centers situations of vulnerability or risk of older people.
OTHER VULNERABLE GROUPS
This action is included within the Victim Protection Programme, which aims to strengthen security measures at vulnerable groups are also older people, women victims of domestic violence, immigrants, minors who play truancy and people risk of social exclusion.
To do this, the local police Cartagena acquired a new tool with the creation of the Judicial Protection of Victims (SJPV), which works exclusively on the protection, assistance and support for these vulnerable people, which advise on instruments available in the various specialized services such as the Department of Women and the Municipal Institute of Social Services.
Within the Victim Protection Program will develop new talks aimed at all vulnerable groups mentioned in order to reduce your risk of vulnerability.
