The managing director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS), Jane Brown, accompanied by the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, today visited a group of social housing located in the Strait of San Ginés that have been rehabilitated by the regional government, through an investment of 172,980 euros.
"There are four houses that were donated by the Department of Education to Social Care for their rehabilitation and that after the improvement works carried out, will go to social practices, which will serve the residents of the Strait of San Ginés "said Brown.
This action is part of the subsidies granted in 2009 by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning to a total of 12 municipalities in the Region of Murcia for the purchase, repair and rehabilitation of municipally owned property.
IVS was investment of 890,000 euros, benefiting municipalities Archena, Bullas, Calasparra, Cartagena, Cehegín, Lorca, Mula, Murcia, Puerto Lumbreras, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Torre Pacheco.
"The rehabilitated homes in different municipalities will be allocated to social uses and families who can not fulfill the right to housing because of their limited economic resources, a factor that is central to the housing policy of the regional government, which aims support to the poorest citizens, "said Brown.
