The coordinator of IU-Greens in Cartagena, Jaime Cayetano Molto, today urged municipal and regional governments to become the prison of San Anton in a cultural center with ongoing workshops in which artists can develop their creativity free.
Molto Jaime explained that this initiative would prevent the deterioration of "irreversibility" of space and would continue to use the old jail for cultural purposes, after it was recently used to house an exhibition of the European Biennial of Contemporary Art Manifesta.
He indicated that the implementation of the proposal does not entail any cost, because "only would require an agreement between the public for their ongoing, and there are sufficient human resources by the municipality in the areas of culture and youth."
He also claims that the initiative, your training presented at the Regional Assembly to ensure the commitment of the regional executive, allow artists to enjoy the space for free, with the sole consideration of "bringing culture to the streets."
