The Government of Spain has invested 814,800 euros for the installation of 360 points of light
The works improve traffic conditions in the 3.2 kilometers from the entrance to Cartagena and shopping centers along the A-30
The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, attended this afternoon, with the head of the State Highway Demarcation, Ángel García Garay, the operation of the lighting at the entrances to Cartagena on the A-30.
This is a new work of the Ministry of Public Works to improve road safety in the area that has meant investing 814,811 euros.
The works have involved the installation of 3 control points and 360 points of light with its associated wiring, spread over a stretch of 3.2 km (pp.kk.189 to 192.2) along walkways trunk highway A-30, in the branches of the links of the highway with the road to La Manga and tailings, with the polygon Cabezo Beaza and shopping malls and the CT-33 road that provides access to the port of Cartagena .
The Government representative stated that "the light of this stretch of the motorway A-30's main objective is to improve road safety in night driving in an area of Cartagena which hosts a high volume of traffic" and added that "this work is a complement to improved circulatory capacity achieved after the commissioning of the expanded third lane of the A-30 in the access section of Cartagena, which entered service last July. "
For Gonzalez Tovar, "these actions are aimed at safeguarding the security on the roads in the region, something that the Government of Spain continues to work and invest."
The work was contracted by the Ministry for the Promotion of SICE SA company, and since their operation is made automatic delivery to the City of Cartagena, who will take over from this point of maintenance and commissioning.
Project Technical Characteristics:
The 360 points of light installed between the trunk highway and the branches of the links have been placed in the middle and on the margins of the highway to 42 meters apart.
In the branch points of light have been placed on the outside berm of the road and with a separation of between 35 and 42 m.
The staffs of the lamps are composed of straight columns truncated to 12 m high and the lights are sealed in the class "IP-66" with 150W HPS (Sodium Vapor High Pressure), subject vertical or horizontal .
And finally, the civil works involved the execution pipeline in a trench under pavement and low road, PVC pipes and manholes for concrete and copper wiring.
