The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, received this morning to Cartagena Patricia Llaguno athlete who has recently proclaimed absolute world champion paddle in the doubles.
In his office of the Town Hall the Mayor and the Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gómez López, have given a plaque of recognition to his career.
After the meeting, Llaguno has been very grateful for the detail of the Mayor of Cartagena and proud to represent the Cartagena with the highest award of paddle tennis, a sport in increases in both the region and throughout Spain. A lot of work every day, believe in what you do and enjoy, is a recipe for success for this cartagenera 25 years made it to the top of the world paddle on 3 December in the competition which was held in Cancun (Mexico), along with fellow Iciar Montes.

Llaguno belongs to Club Dos Mares in La Manga where he began to play with only 8 years, but now trains in Madrid.
From very young he has reaped the greatest successes of the blade, making several global and national tournaments at youth level and absolute.
TĂ Tuloso AND RECOGNITION IN YOUR CAREER
Achieved with only 12 years his first international title of Spain proclaimed runner sub-14 and U-12 Champion International in Argentina, in 1997.
The following year rises to the top of the podium in the championship of Spain under-14 title that renewed in 1999, adding the U-16 Championships and Under-18.
In 2000, again won the title of Spain Under-16 and U-18.
In 2001, along with a new championship of Spain U-18, was proclaimed World Champion U-16 (Mexico) World Champion for Children team.
In the 2002 season renews the U-18 title and get the gold medal at the World Championships U-18 (Madrid) and the World Championship for Children team.
In 2003 Champion returns to Spain Under-18 and world champion sub-sub-18 (Brazil).
In the year 2008 and after studying in Atlanta (USA) rejoins the national circuit Padel Spain getting to be Champion Runner's World Absolute pairs and teams.
Finally in 2009 won the Championship of Spain and University of San Sebastian Pro Tour for the second time being chosen Sportsman of the year in the city of Cartagena.
