The City Neighborhood Council Albujón and Miranda and the Association of Parents (AMPA) Luis Vives school in El Albujón have organized a program of activities in the 2010-2011 academic year to celebrate its 40 anniversary. The first commemorative activities have been stained of solidarity, as they have participated in the campaign to collect toys these days is in the offices of the Administration Building of the City of Cartagena.
Teachers, parents, students and anyone who wished, has worked selflessly giving a toy for children who need it most and that their economic or social, can not afford it.
Through the Outreach College, the entire school community participated in the campaign launched by the City of Cartagena and its departments for Social Policy, Youth, Celebration and Youth Council.
The United World College is only the first of many activities throughout the year will not be lacking in the school in El Albujón, from tributes to former pupils, to exhibitions, workshops, lectures, contests, screenings and competitions.
The merit of this school is by not slow its growth since its inception.
It was in the throes of the Franco regime in the early seventies, when it opened had only 4 classrooms, about 90 students and 8 teachers.
Today, 40 years later, the school has about 350 student s, divided between school and Primary Education and thirty teachers dedicated to educating students and school functioning.
