The twenty-ninth edition of the San Silvestre Cartagena this year has a new record of participants.
In total about 2100 people gathered Sunday December 26 from 11 am at the Plaza Héroes de Cavite to walk the 5 km street circuit on the main streets of Cartagena.
The Lorca David Sánchez Romero was the winner of the completing the course in 17 minutes and 25 seconds.
In the women, the first to reach the goal has been Rostoll Elena Ferrer, with a time of 22 minutes and 18 seconds.
The councilman of Deportes of the City of Cartagena, Alonso Gómez López, accompanied by representatives of the collaborating firms, was responsible for chairing the awards ceremony at the end of the race.
Over a hundred prizes were distributed this year, as well as for the winners, special awards will be featured riders who wore the best costume.
Despite the cold, the response of the athletes and clubs in Cartagena was massive.
In total 1500 and 573 young adults participated in a race already crowded with dorsal announced totally exhausted and ultimately overcame more than double the number of participants last year, 573 people had gathered.
In addition to professional traders, not to miss the fans and families who signed up for this event by providing supportive dose of good humor and positive energy.
The San Silvestre Cartagena is not only the perfect excuse to do some exercise in the midst of the excesses of Christmas, but a solidarity contribution to a charitable purpose, as 1 euro each goes back to the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
To make everything work seamlessly with this popular Christmas event, a total of one hundred volunteers monitored the course, also guarded by a large and effective traffic control device of the local police.
