During the period between 29 November and 10 December 2010, and a total of 840 hours, 2nd year students of the Intermediate Training Course Welding and Boiler Cartagena Polytechnic Institute led by Professor Francisco José Ruano have built beautiful sculpture designed by Pablo Serret Ena, based on experimental prototypes of the designs before the radar of the interwar period.
To do this, students (Antonio Candel, Agustin Clemente, Abraham Soler, José Navarro, José Carlos Rabal, Youssef Amerane, Juan Fernandez, Miguel Angel Redondo, Pedro Javier Gonzalez, Freddy Medina and Carlos Javier Gálvez) have used tracing procedures, cut, shaped and welded carbon steel sheet 2 mm for the construction of all elements of sculpture.
This work consists mainly of five straight cone height 800 mm and various diameters, being the eldest of 1,500 mm and 200 mm lower, allowing the creation of a single large cone of 4,000 mm in height which is based on a vertical column of 1,600 mm on a tripod angle of 60 mm.
Once the work in the factories of Welding and Boiler was mounting transportation and Torres Park last Friday, December 10, by the students and the teacher coordinator.
The official opening was on 11 at 19:45 pm where the artist, Pablo Serret, using your piece gave a cry of greeting to our Arab neighbors.
This work allows the viewer interactive play with it, getting his voice amplified through the cone and simulating a metaphorical communication between the two shores of the Mediterranean.
Supposedly would be linked Cartagena, Tetouan and Tifariti (Western Sahara).
The work will be exhibited at the Esplanade Park Towers until 9 January.
