The rain did not prevent successful participation in the activities of the Fourth of Disabled and Senior Fair organized by the municipality of Cartagena.
The Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon was responsible for closing on Sunday this activity which involved more than 2000 over the clubs and organizations of disabled people in our municipality.
Throughout the weekend the Plaza Juan XXIII has been the hub of the activities of the fourth edition of the fair in which workshops have been developed esparto, roll and display of costumes.
As a finale, the closing ceremony featured a performance by Rondalla Alum and play The Three Queens Club Magas San José Obrero.
This year, the union of associations for the disabled has provided interesting new features like the play in Spring Suicide Prohibited by the group the sloop and thanks to the collaboration of the ONCE.
Other activities in this exhibition were made by the Association Mano a Mano, with the workshop entitled My Hand also speak on the awareness of sign language.
The highest point of joy began with music and other performances as the sample of carols Miranda, Puebla, lighting and Palma, the sympathy of the chestnut of the District Virgen de la Caridad.
Besides these activities, the Fair for the Elderly and Disabled has had 27 stands in which exposed food products, crafts and popular members of the more than forty associations held throughout the year.
The Fair is the climax of presentation of their work and the best way to combine fun and solidarity, and that the proceeds are donated to charity.
Have also been exposed the news from companies such as residential or home help services.
The stand of the participating associations have been Messengers of Peace, Afal, Association of Relatives and Alzheimer, APIC, Association for the Integration of Mentally Ill of Cartagena, ONCE, sodium, Mano a Mano, Services and Programs for Language Signs, Astus, Guardianship Association of People with Disabilities and the Association of People with Physical or Organic Cartagena, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, the Federation of Aging and the City of Cartagena with municipal volunteer program and an information point the Department of Social Services.
