Professor Manuel Alcaraz Aparicio was elected Sunday School director of Civil Engineering and Mines UPCT.
Alcaraz, who replaced Antonio García Martín, a professor in the department of Mining Engineering, Geological and Mapping since 1998.
The School Board has chosen Alcaraz by 31 votes to the 61 cast.
The new director, who is 41 years and is a Mining Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, has held the subaddress of Mines during the past five years.
Manuel Alcaraz is a member of the research group specializes in Geomatics and Cartographic Engineering and Management of Mineral Resources.
Among the new challenges facing the next director are the implementation of the new Master of Engineering in Civil and Ports and Mining Engineering as well as enhancement of relations with the business.
One of the main objectives is to train good people, adapted to the real needs of the business.
