Birth presented by the students of 4 th of Mediterranean Primary School in La Manga has been the winner of Contest Crib II organized by the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, in collaboration with the Mall Mandarache.
The jury, which met this morning to assess the 15 shortlisted works, emphasized the originality, plasticity, materials used and the diligence of the cribs, in relation to the age of the students.
If the winner has taken account of its production: pasta made with different types, both characters and animals and elements that compose it.
They have also been very original work of the other two winners: the second prize was awarded to the students of 2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th and 5 th Primary Board of Trustees of Sacred Heart of Jesus, who have made a crib with plastic recycled bottles, yogurt cups and containers, along with cork and paper, and the third prize went to students from primary school 5, Virgen del Carmen, which have developed a birth with egg shells, clay, cork and paper.
The jury has been very difficult to decide on these three works, given the quality of all submitted.
At the invitation had attended 19 schools, although for reasons of space had to be a shortlist of 15.
The awards were presented this morning during a gala held at the Mall Mandarache with the assistance of the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, who moments earlier had presided over the jury.
The first prize winners were presented with a plasma TV 42 inches, the second prize, with projection equipment (barrel and screen), and third, with a video camera.
In addition, all participating schools and teachers have received a gift in recognition of his efforts and involvement.
All participants have attended this morning Mandarache mall, where they visited the exhibition of nativity scenes and enjoyed various entertainment activities, among which was the carved ice sculptures.
The exhibition of 15 shortlisted cribs can be visited until January 6, on the first floor of the Mall Mandarache in time of 10.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 20.00 hours.
