The Palace Hall reopened its doors in solidarity with the celebration on Thursday, December 16, III Blood Drive Marathon, which organize and promote the City of Cartagena, the SER, the Regional Centre of Blood Donation and the Ministry of Health .
The aim is to appeal to the solidarity and generosity of Cartagena, amply demonstrated in the two previous editions which have exceeded the 300 donors, as highlighted in the presentation of the event Councillor for Health, Nicholas Angel Bernal responsible for the Regional Centre of Blood Donation, Toni Gomez, and the director of Radio Cadena SER Cartagena, Manuel Herrera.
From 10 am until 20.00 hours, hours expandable if necessary, a device developed to perform 400 extractions, comprised of 8 nurses and 16 beds, two people to take data and two medical examination, attend to all citizens who want to come to donate blood and they will find a gratifying surprise, since donors will be drawn between a national team jersey of world champion, signed by all players as well as a Real Madrid shirt, another one from Barcelona and Cartagena, also signed.
As is tradition, during the day are expected to attend the team's players and Cartagena, the culmination, the regional program of the BE Window will be broadcast live from the Palace Hall.
DONORS ARE KEPT IN CARTAGENA
The head of the Blood Donation Regional Centre has ensured that while regional level there has been a decrease of 5 percent in the number of donations since last year until now, mainly due to a reduction in demand also in Cartagena figures are maintained.
This year, 2,325 people have gone to donate blood to Rosell, excluding specific grants that have been made in the neighborhoods and businesses.
In addition, 302 people have become new donors in 2010, also in the Rosell.
To donate blood must be between 18 and 65 years (up to 70 if it is a donor), weighing over 50 kilos and be healthy.
