Doctor Luis Street Grille will open to traffic on Monday December 13 after the completion of the refurbishment.
The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and Minister of Presidency, Pedro María Reverte, visit the section before its full opening.
The visit will take place at 18.30 pm and the meeting place will be in Soldier Rosique street corner with Dr. Luis Calandre. From there, made a tour of the facilities to verify that it has met the objective of improving sidewalks, driveways, lighting and street furniture.
The main attraction of the renovated street ride as a gazebo for use by both pedestrians and cyclists, as well as enabling a bike path along the margin of the Rambla, the location of various palm trees and greenery.
THE PROJECT IN TWO PHASES
The project of renovation and development of this street, adjoining the channel of the Rambla de Benipila, cost about 4 million euros, of which 3 million have been funded by the Autonomous Community, and 1 million by the City of Cartagena .
Work began in February 2010 and developed in two phases.
The first, which ended in June, was conducted in the area between Francisco de Borja and Sebastian Feringa and the second from the Bridge and the street Cartagonova Doctor Marañón.
