Residents of the Neighborhood Santiago spent years denouncing the authorities the collection and processing of debris from the demolition of buildings of the Old Town of Cartagena, as well as the clearing of the mountain hamlet of Lo Campano and historic mountain "Fireplace."
Since 2004 we have repeatedly denounced the destruction and degradation of the area, but had so far ruling by the council and another by the prosecution of Cartagena, which opened proceedings, file below.
These historical sites are very close to the ravine known as the Ugly, which is one of the few forested areas has our city, and there is a clear intention to destroy its ecological and scenic value.
An example of the longing that is the old brick production model and a demonstration of unsustainable development practices that our city government: the desire remains speculative at the expense of common interest.
UPyD-Cartagena is glad that the Directorate General of Mines has initiated the opening of four files to the companies involved in the illegal clearing of forests, following complaints by residents of the Barrio Santiago, and urges the government team that has spent years demonstrating a desire speculator at the expense of common interest, commitment to protect one of the few green areas with which our city and take care of that environment in order to bequeath to future generations.
