The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has organized with the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain's Historical Heritage Seminar Santa Maria La Vieja.
Space and Time, which will be held on Thursday, December 2 at the Museum Roman Theatre of Cartagena.
The course has the support of the City of Cartagena, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Bishop of Cartagena and Cajamurcia Foundation.
The meeting will inform professionals and the general public both the results of archaeological research developed and documentation work in the church of Santa María la Vieja, and the implementation of restoration thanks to a project of the Diocese of Cartagena with the momentum of the Ministry and sponsored by the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain.
This project will be implemented in phases, is the main reference for religious use was created and, therefore, specialists from various disciplines will present progress and future prospects by providing the tools for global integration.
The seminar will begin at 18:00 with a paper study and analysis of the documentation about the church Santa María la Vieja, which will give the director of the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Cartagena, Maria Comas.
We will follow the conference on results of archaeological research in the church of Santa Maria, which will provide the directors of the archaeological museum of the Roman Theatre in Cartagena, Elena Ruiz and Antonio Valdez Muñoz Murcia.
At 18:40 hours there will be a presentation on the survey work and documentation of the Old St. Mary Church, by the Professor of Technical Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Pedro E.
Collado.
At 19:00 it will be the turn of the director of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, Alfonso Muñoz Cosme, with the presentation of cultural heritage management through national plans. Closing the day a panel coordinated by the director general Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón.
