Social Care, Antonio Calderon, have delivered this afternoon the subsidies that the Municipal Institute of Social Services grants to associations of social action of the municipality to develop projects in the area of social services in 2010.
In this event was attended by the 20 entities that perform actions aimed at the most vulnerable sectors working with the social services department, as children, youth, women, seniors, people with disabilities, people in emergency situations, risk or social exclusion, people with chronic illnesses and / or degenerative diseases.
Among the actions agreed include among others, those aimed at preventing situations of risk, to increase the quality of life of beneficiaries, to provide leisure and free time promoting volunteerism, caring for the elderly.
From City of Cartagena, the mayor emphasized, is making a real effort to meet this demand is increasing every day.
Therefore, the mayor has reported that these 20 projects have been worth almost 150,000 euros.
In addition, he stressed that this year 2010 is for each month in emergency aid to 58% more than what was used in 2007.
Finally, he added, only meals a month this year, we allocate all expenditure in 2007.
That is, in 2010 has spent 480,000 euros and in 2007 the expenditure was of 36,200 euros.
