The general direction of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, in collaboration with the Universities of Murcia and Cartagena Polytechnic and the Centre for Soil Science and Applied Biology Segura (CEBAS-CSIC) has organized the 'Fourth Technical Conference on Contaminated Soil '(morning 30 November and 1 December in Cartagena at the Salon de Grados Sebastian Feringa, Technical School of Industrial Engineering) will bring together experts from the different regional administrations, Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine , public entities and agencies with responsibilities in this area.
In the morning session will be assessed the implementation of the conclusions reached in previous meetings held in Santiago de Compostela, Barcelona and Seville, addressing issues such as the current state of law and policy development, technical implementation and accreditation of environmental control agencies on soil, among others.
Will be treated just as other priority concerns such as the calculation of risk indices, the possible involvement of groundwater restoration techniques and related problems in arid and semiarid climates, depending on the sectors affected by the regulation current on contaminated soils.
On Wednesday he will present the conclusions and develop proposals for work to be addressed in the next matchday.
Attendees also will visit the mining area of Cartagena-La Union, Portman Bay and other sites to check environmental adaptation work carried out on them.
