The Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) yesterday approved the submission to the National Agency for Quality Assessment (ANEC) Memory implementation of the title of Master's Degree in Engineering in Civil Engineering.
Master is the first that enables to send a regulated profession to assess the University and in turn is the first civil engineer, Canales y Puertos presented for evaluation in Spain.
The Master of Engineering in Civil and Ports will last for two years.
The first students will continue their graduate studies with the master are those who have enrolled this year conversion courses in the School of Civil Engineering and Mining, both at the gateway to the graduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Civil Construction specialty, as in the specialty of Hydrology.
But this master will also offer students who have begun to pursue the new degree in Civil Engineering, a title whose main feature dual vocational award offered in the fields of hydrology and civil constructions, the possibility of continuing his studies with a graduate degree to jobs.
The success of this new title he realizes he has been one of the most popular course.
This title is considered by UPCT of strategic interest, since it will complete the provision of higher education in the Region in the field of Civil Engineering.
The implementation of Title will complete the teaching staff in key areas like Engineering, Construction, Urban and Regional Planning.
The Technical University of Cartagena offers 45 places for this master.
Future Engineers, Canales y Puertos are professionally trained to work in the areas of roads and transport, ports and coasts, water and energy, urban planning, land management and environment and building.
The Master's Degree in Architectural Heritage is another UPCT bets.
This master will last one year and offered forty seats.
May access it graduates in Architecture, Engineering, History and Art, although as in the previous case the first students who can access it from next year are the technical architects who are doing an adaptation (gateway) to the extent Engineering Building.
These postgraduate studies is to address the labor demand that exists in the field of architectural heritage and the need for professionals in conservation techniques and works of architecture and engineering, with specific needs different to other fields of cultural heritage .
The Master would also comprise a doctoral program, which would give continuity that has been providing the UPCT under the name "Architecture, Urbanism and Environment."
