The contractor of the works Pinwheel Park has begun to dismantle the steps of the staircase leading from the Plaza de López Pinto, after which come archeological remains of the Wall of Dean to be preserved.
According to sources explained to the Department of Planning, excavations have uncovered a stronghold of the former Dean's Wall and Philip V, which ran along the hillside.
This has forced the project to modify the access ladder was run in a first phase of Plan E, which was now completed with the installation of an escalator in one of its sides.
Amendments to the height dimension in this disclosure because of the appearance of the remains, requiring the installation of four mechanical ladder sections, with their landings, rather than two as initially projected, and the subsequent adaption of rest of the stairs.
The stone steps are being removed and placed on pallets for reuse.
The modification does not lead to an increase in the budget execution of the work, and that this fact had been offered as an upgrade, at no cost by the contractor in its current specification.
