Cartagena City Council will meet on Saturday, November 13, their vote to the Four Saints, San Isidro, San Leandro, San Fulgencio and Santa Florentina, in the Church of Santa María de Gracia, coinciding with the feast of the Virgen del Rosell , a former patron of the city.
The tradition of this vote goes back to the night of November 24, 1694, the day of Santa Catalina, when a storm hit the city and nearly destroyed.
Miraculously it was not and was attributed to the prayers that went to Cartagena Four Saints and the Virgin del Rosell, so happy ending.
The Corporation decided to hold every year an act of gratitude to the Four Saints and the Virgin del Rosell, who has been doing since then, first at the old Cathedral and later at Santa Maria de Gracia.
Votive function, as it is known, will take place during a Mass to officiate, starting at 19.30 hours, the Bishop of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes.
At the offertory, the Deputy Mayor, José Vicente Albaladejo, will give this year to conduct the offering and kiss the relics of four saints, before the high altar.
After the Eucharist there will be an induction ceremony at the Virgen del Rosell, with an opening speech to be delivered Fernández Ginés Garrido, and a wreath by the authorities, civil bodies, guilds, associations, religious associations, faithful and devoted in general .
