The staff of the National Police in Cartagena has increased by 12.9% this year and 68% since 2004
Crimes fell by 13.27% so far this year compared to 2009
Fell by 20.3% crimes against property, and 5.88% robberies
The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, the police chief, Carlos Llorente, and the superintendent of Cartagena, José María García, presented this morning to 12 new players in the National Police to join the staff of the Cartagena station after passing the academic and practical periods in the Police Academy of Avila.
González Tovar reported that with this addition the National Police in Cartagena will feature a total of 306 agents, representing an increase of 12.9% over the previous year and a 68.13% on the number of agents that body which had in 2004, coinciding with entry into the government of President Rodríguez Zapatero.
Along with the Civil Guard troops, the increase in the staffing of the Security Forces in Cartagena in the last 6 years rises to 74.6%.
In this sense, the delegate recalled that the Oct. 7 were added to the Cartagena Station 25 new police staff, so that additions to the police station amounted to 124 new agents in just six years, resulting "in a substantial improvement, has identified Gonzalez Tovar, the levels of police efficiency and, therefore, public safety, further progress in the specialization of the various units of the National Police."
As for crime data from these first 10 months, the government delegate stressed that the scope of the National Police, there has been a decline in crime in a 13.27%, from 2,231 to 1,935, decrease also occurred in a 2.2% failures.
Notably, a reduction of 20.29% of crimes against property, and within it a 31.18% in robbery with intimidation and 10.92% in robberies.
Also, crimes against persons decreased by 5.88%, reaching in all cases above the regional average.
González Tovar has highlighted the dramatic increase in prisoners between the perpetrators of robberies, which increased 42.05%, and the perpetrators of crimes against persons, which reached 15.91%.
In this regard, he recalled that have already been resolved 4 homicides that occurred in the area of the NPC, during the year 2010 and the 3 that took place in 2009.
Finally, the government delegate in the Murcia Region has also reported that police effectiveness has increased overall by 3.5% over the same period in 2009, "something that is associated with increase in staff and investment in training, as well as a specialization of the agents of the National Police and, in general, the Security Forces of the government, "he said.
