The Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Diabetic Society of Cartagena and its surroundings (sodium) has organized a program of actions for the ninth week of Diabetes, held in Cartagena from 13 to 21 November to mark the World Day diabetes.Dentro of this program, which comes under the slogan Let's take the control of diabetes, there are various activities aimed at prevention, such as the mediation of hyperglycemia, which will be on Sunday 14 November, coinciding with World Diabetes, in a fixed house to install an information table in the Plaza del Icue.
It has also organized a charity dinner on Sunday 21 to raise funds for the association and a series of talks and lectures, from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 November, focusing on the causes, symptoms, treatment and complications associated with the disease.
They intervene professionals who will give practical advice and the latest advances in cell therapies.
Lecture Series, on the Regional Assembly and reading show are some of the events planned by the Diabetic Association and District of Cartagena (sodium) for prevention and treatment of this disease are some of the activities of the ninth week of diabetic.
All lectures take place in the Hall of Military Artillery Museum, which opened on Monday 15 at 19.30, the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderón, accompanied by the president for sodium, María Dolores García.
Noted that the World Diabetes Day brings together millions of people in over 160 countries to raise awareness about diabetes, including children and adults affected by diabetes, health professionals and the media.
Numerous local and national events are organized by member associations of the International Diabetes Federation and other organizations associated with diabetes.
The World Diabetes Day unites the global diabetes community to produce a powerful voice for diabetes awareness.
In Spain, the Spanish Diabetes Society and the Spanish Federation of Diabetes associations are members of the International Diabetes Federation.
