The wind gusts up to 70 kilometers yesterday afternoon struck the city of Cartagena, resulted in a fall from a palm tree on Royal Street, two trees in the plaza of the island and the walk of Alfonso XII and the danger the collapse of a fence on the football pitch Garden City.
The wind and the presence of red palm weevil contributed to 16:50 hours on a palm tree about seven feet to bend the trunk and fell on the street on Calle Real.
Troops rushed to the place of Fire, Local Police and municipal Gardens, for removal.
As explained Gardens Service sources, so far the red palm weevil plague had affected specimens of Canary Island palms, which are there in the Heroes of Cavite and Muralla del Mar. The existing Royal Street are the date palm species, the weevil had attacked the very few cases.
The presence of the beetle in this issue has alerted municipal services, that notwithstanding these days were making sanitation pruning Real street and dealing with preventive protection products to copies of existing date palms there.

OTHER INCIDENTS BY THE WIND
Other findings by the wind were recorded at around six o'clock in the afternoon at the island and the walk of Alfonso XII.
In the square of the island broke a branch from the main trunk of a tree and landed on the street, while on the ride of Alfonso XII, was precipitated another large branch, preventing access to a garage.
