The works are undertaken in the area of Bohemia Plaza de la Manga del Mar Menor to avoid the problems of floods and bad smells caused by some outdated sewage systems and storm, have today with the modern application of a technique that allows rehabilitation of sections without having to open ditches.
As explained Councillor for Infrastructure and Services, José Vicente Albaladejo, the technique has been already used successfully in other works in the Region of Murcia Aquagest company in Cartagena, the Plaza del Rey.
In this case the technical direction of the operation is run by Aquagest and affects the sanitation section of pipeline that comes to pumping Galúa avoid having to dig trenches to discover the pipe rehabilitation.
The pipeline passes under terraces of restaurants in the area about 4 feet deep.
Measures 95 meters and has a diameter of 400 mm.
Due to the area which is (sand and rock) it was necessary to repair using this technology, assured the council.
The work consists mainly in the interior of the pipe casing by a sleeve and injecting resin to harden forming a waterproof film.
The cooling process takes approximately 8 to 10 hours.
Environmental aspects resulting from the use of traditional technology and the improvement obtained by using trenchless technology are evident in reducing air and noise pollution, and the significant energy savings.
It also prevents breakage of pavements and removal of plant species.
The risk of rupture of other services was reduced because the invasion of the work is much lower.
And the inconvenience to citizens by the invasion of field work are minimized.
The new line has the following qualities:
- No joints, resulting in a sealed tube and devoid of creases .- Improving the hydraulic characteristics of the existing pipeline with the new smooth surface .- Ensures high resistance to aggressive wastewater .- Stops embedding roots. - The use of non-polluting materials ensures compliance with environmental requirements.
N ALSO NOT OPEN DITCHES IN Mara CRISTINA
Albaladejo has advanced to next week will also be used trenchless technology in the Plaza de Maria Cristina.
They are installing a new network of rain a larger section.
The technique is different because it is not repaired but replaced a network, and avoid the hassles of cutting hundreds of motorists who daily pass through this central point that gives access to the Alameda de San Antón.
