The Active and Healthy Tourism program (CAS) prepared by the Municipal Institute of Social Services has prepared this Friday, November 5, within the activities of the Fridays of March for the elderly, the hiking route number 21 Tallante-Rambla del Canar- Isla Plana.
With a distance of 10 miles, this route is of low difficulty and crosses the watershed of the Rambla del Canar that runs from the foothills of the Sierra de la Muela and Peñas Blancas on the east, and the eastern end of Sierra del Algarrobo to the west, with the northern boundary the Collado de la Cruz (338 meters) and Tallante corner.
The delimitation of the basin is given by high relief, that through some natural steps such as hills, allow access to neighboring watersheds.
Participants will discover on their way the watershed of wadi Valdelentisco Esparrillar and, through the collar of the same name and Hondo.
To the east, the basin of the Rambla de la Azohía through the hills of Down, Fishermen and Ballesteros.
La Rambla del Canar, traveled from his home a few miles Tallante, on the basis of Peñas Blancas (629 m.), Loma of Carrascas and Head of the Bakery (370 m.), to its mouth at a place called Campillo Out on the Playa de San Ginés, a path of approximately 7.5 kilometers long.
In addition to traditional rainfed del Campo de Cartagena (almond, fig, carob), once in the course of the Rambla participants can see cypress, eucalyptus, pine and mountain slopes, palm and many herbs such as thyme, lavender and rosemary.
About 6 miles where there appears a fountain and lush vegetation on the road, a small village with cubic houses and a chapel, typical of the Campo de Cartagena.
In this chapel is the traditional procession of Canar "held the second Sunday of January.
The output of the route, with the participation of 50 largest, will be at 9.15 hours from the esplanade mall Peak.
