UPyD was the first political group to be genuinely concerned about this problem, when we include teachers as a public authority with a proposal that Rosa Díez Act led to Members of Congress.
On the morning of October 28, a teacher at IES "San Isidoro" was attacked in the staff room of the center by the family of a gypsy boy who was booked in the courtyard.
Once inside the center went to the staff room where he was the teacher and handed many blows as he was insulted.
The site management has shown no rejection whatsoever to the events, but since UPyD-Cartagena show our support for the teachers and all teachers who oversee the education of our children, the risk of being insulted and even beaten for doing their teaching.
One of the claims is to return UPyD competition in state education.
No doubt that if this were so, all teachers would be considered a public authority in the state, no matter where they serve and not to categorize teachers, depending on where they work.
It is true that there is, in theory, support the penal code to consider teachers as public authority, although in practice how to handle the matter is very far from being true in most cases.
UPyD-Cartagena urged the Ministry of Education to take appropriate measures to avoid recurrence of such attacks in any facility.
