It is the fastest growing number of new students registered since the inception of the educational institution.
The most popular degrees are the Civil and Marine Engineering, which offer dual career assignment.
This course has enrolled 1,963 freshmen, 405 more than last year, according to data provided by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Josefina García León.
The greatest growth in enrollment has occurred in the School of Civil Engineering and Mines, where demand has tripled over the past year.
This year 298 students have enrolled in first grade.
Superior Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) has increased 67 freshmen compared to last year. I still Faculty of Business Science (FCE) has increased, with 52 students, the School of Engineering and Naval Oceanic (ETSINO) with 30 and the School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSI), with 15.
The School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) is the center with the largest number of students in the UPCT, with 2,327 students.
The School of Architecture and Building Engineering (Arquide) is the second center in number of students with 1,100 students.
Regarding the number of women, enrollment increases at schools and Mines Road and Telecommunications.
Of the students enrolled in UPCT, two-thirds come from outside Cartagena.
50% is the remaining municipalities of the Region of Murcia, 14% in other regions and 3% from other countries.
The total number of students enrolled at the UPCT exceeds 6,500.
