The fourth edition of the Awards for Quality in Construction of the Region of Murcia 2010, awarded biennially, has distinguished the Palace Hall of Cartagena, in the section Building Institutional Use by, among others, the terms of energy efficiency and its contribution to sustainability.

Beside the town hall in Cartagena, have also been distinguished, among 24 candidates, the Auditorio Victor Villegas (Award Other Uses), the building Seiquer Ruiz de Murcia (Use Residential Buildings Award), the Museum of Fine Arts (Award Other Uses), the Casino de Murcia (Award for Rehabilitation), and the Hotel Termas de Archena (Tourism Use Building Award).

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by President of the Association of Technical Architects and Engineers Building in the Region, Carmelo Carrasco, was asked yesterday to publicize the awards, which have the recognize target buildings with antiquity less than 15 years that balance in their security, construction quality and livability.

As pointed Ballesta, for this annual awards are considered as key parameters of energy efficiency and resource management, led to greater sustainability and saving water, two elements that characterize those buildings that stand as examples of quality for the entire region.

In addition, the technical architect Antonio Garrido received the special award for meritorious professional work for the conservation and efficient construction, the proposal of the Association of Surveyors, Architects and Engineers Technical Building in the Region of Murcia.

The jury of the Quality Awards IV in Building has had with representatives of the Ministry of Public Works and Land Management, Service Quality Management in Construction of the Autonomous Community of the Official College of Architects Regional Federation Municipalities, the Regional Federation of Employers of the Construction of the Region (FRECOM) of the Regional Federation of Employers of the Metal, Caja Mediterráneo, Cajamurcia Foundation, the Association of Technical Architects, the Association of Administrators Farms and Construction Technology Center (CTCON).
