One hundred housewives from Cartagena, as well as the municipalities of San Javier and Los Alcazares, today participated in a course on Prevention of Gender Violence organized by the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users of Cartagena (Thaderconsumo) , to celebrate the November 25th International Day Against Violence Against Women.
In the opening ceremony of the course, the general director of the Prevention of Violence and Juvenile Reform, Teresa Moreno, who was accompanied by the councilman of Culture, Celebration, Women's Archaeological Heritage and Cartagena, Rosario Montero, highlighted the benefits Collaboration Protocol will provide the Agency to victims of gender violence, which is expected to be operational later this year.
According to Moreno, the Protocol will "establish working mechanisms which make visible the victims of gender violence and avoid the high percentage of deaths of women who have never denounced."
Among the listed benefits, the general manager said the establishment of a single computerized database of victims, greater expertise of professionals who are related to gender violence and the implementation mechanisms that promote the flow of information between institutions.
