New programming Teatro Circo Cartagena begins tomorrow, Thursday October 14 Omena-G with '2036 ', presented by the theater company Joglars.
The Catalan group is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary and is already the longest stable company in Spain.
To celebrate, its director, Albert Boadella, has decided to take a look to the future.
How will Joglars in 2036?
The play tries to take a step further and try to find out what will happen to each of the components of the company within 26 years.
It is a work in acid and sarcastic tone that characterizes the work of Joglars.
Price of locations 22 and 18 Euros.
The work, which has in the deal with Jesus Agelet, Jordi Costa, Ramon Fontseré, Minnie Marx, Lluís Olivé, Pilar Sáenz, Xavi and Dolors Tuneu Sais, tells how Boadella imagines his own theater company in 2036, when a important bank sponsored a tribute to the survivors of which was once a flagship company of comedians.
The tribute is led by young artists, whose relationship with the old comic highlights diverging worlds.
From this arises the whole evolution of the work, showing, for one, toned, affected and dominant at the zenith of modern life and the others already on the decline, but still displaying flashes of wit and dignity.
Conflict develops between the fun, cruelty, tenderness and sarcasm.
Boadella said they anticipate a possible version of the "sunset" of the company: "It is not future science. It is simply to change the dates and put us in the 75 th anniversary of our founding. The rest is just a balance of probabilities, many trials and the experience of 50 years. "
This new show, plus a critical portrait of the future society, serves as a balance of rich and long history of Joglars.
Omena says Boadella 2036-G is a synthesis of what could define the group: "It is, he explains, a sense of humor, sarcasm, funny tragedy and tenderness, something that has gone unnoticed in our work, perhaps by force of comedy. "
"Hay-highlights-a huge emotion in the works of Joglars, which may have been deleted by the public's taste for the gag". The assembly point is in 2036, when a bank and a conglomerate of companies organize a tribute to the last comic flagship company in the past and facing his 75th birthday.
From there, text and action proposes a reflection on topics as diverse as old age or state intervention in culture. After nearly 50 years, with thousands of performances in over twenty countries in Europe, America and the most innovative work in a matter of style and content, has not lost Joglars force or expectation.
This vitality has undoubtedly contributed, since 1961 the company has remained true to some ethical and dramatic sources held with "an obsessive stubbornness" in the words of Albert Boadella.
Since then, highlights the director and alma mater of the group, "we have been practicing a very simple and effective principle for art swim against the current correction."
"This recipe adds artistic-has caused us to be branded as unpatriotic and reactionary, abusive, anarchists or fascists, as the dominant trends of the moment", something that has not dented the group's goal: to keep the proceedings of a theater critic directly related to the surrounding reality. Omena-G 2036 is a step in this "wondrous adventure" that has been Joglars life and, in turn, anticipates a possible version of unremitting decline of the company.
"Nor is science Boadella future, warns," only a balance of probabilities, many trials and experience of 50 years. "
The result, according to critics, is one of the most successful shows of the long and rich history of the group.
