To mark the start of the new school year 2010/2011, the Intercultural Center for Pain and Casco Antiguo, dependent on the Department of Social Services, he went back open enrollment period from 4 to October 15, days in which centers will remain open in order to be visited while the registration is performed while developing an information campaign.
Intercultural Centers are places for young people aged between 11 and 16 years, residents in neighborhoods where they are located, in order to promote intercultural harmony between children from different countries of origin, promoting values based on the coexistence solidarity and enabling approach to different cultural realities.
All activities carried out in the workshops are conducted under the framework of multiculturalism, with diverse performances: cinema-forum, recycling, intercultural dynamics, musical workshops, social skills, healthy habits workshop, lectures, outings, celebration of significant days ...
The objectives pursued are:
Promote intercultural harmony among youth from different backgrounds.
Promote values based on coexistence and solidarity, which are opposed to any form of racism and xenophobia.
Enable us to approach the cultural realities in our society.
Offer alternatives for the responsible use of leisure time.
Create opportunities for dialogue among the young people of families attending the center.
The centers are organized into two distinct spaces, each of them:
Workshop leisure for young people: development creates two groups attending two days a week each, at the following times:
Small-group (11 to 14 years): Monday and Wednesday from 17.30 to 19:00
-Older group (14 to 16 years): Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 7:00 p.m..
Study support workshop: This workshop is conducted after completing the workshop of leisure, from 19.00 to 20.00 hours, in order to support youth in their educational process as a booster in those homework that they are more complicated .
These centers may attend any boy or girl who is between 11 and 16 years and resides in the Old Town of Cartagena or in or around Los Dolores.
