The councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, has this morning signed cooperation agreements with Associations and Institutions of Social Action of the municipality, for which the Municipal Institute of Social Services deliver aid to them to carry out drug prevention campaigns in schools and the development of actions to improve the quality of life and welfare of drug addicts.
Calderon has stressed the effort that the City Council with the mayor at the head has made to keep the budgets for social care and that now allows grants amounting to EUR 69,500 to seven organizations whose work is aimed at helping most in need, with actions to prevent drug addiction.
Remember that one of the objectives of IMSS is to carry out a policy to reduce inequality through measures such as the establishment of social facilities and community reconstruction.
In this line, highlights the Municipal Plan of Action on Drug Addiction (LDCs) of the City of Cartagena, which provides for the Promotion of Health as the proper and appropriate framework for action on drug addiction and sets as its ultimate goal to work for Cartagena healthier.
The PMAD not intended as an exclusive action of the City, but is intended to be a Plan of the municipality in which converge the different efforts of public institutions and social initiatives on drug and to maximize interagency coordination.
Proof of this was the signing of such cooperation agreements, which took place this morning at the office of Councillor for Social Care, located in the Edificio de La Milagrosa.
The beneficiaries of these aid groups are the Parents and Friends Association Against Drugs, Family Action Association, the Anti-AIDS Committee, the Youth Council, FAPA (Federation of Associations of Parents of Students), CONCAPA (Catholic Confederation of Associations of Parents of Students) and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations Fernando Garrido.
