The 36 points used cooking oil collection, located in shopping centers and neighborhood associations, have been collected in the first eight months of this year 9,870 liters, according to latest figures published by the Association of Collection, Treatment and Recycling Oil and Fats (AERT), responsible for managing these wastes.
Out of this accounting oil is recycled by citizens through Ecoparks.
During the past year in the municipality of Cartagena were recycled through these 36 points, 13,521 liters of oil, putting him ahead of the municipalities in the region.
Among the points they have collected more volume, highlights the Mall located in the Rambla de Eroski Benipila, which has provided in the eight months 3,300 liters, one third of the municipality.

AERT sources have explained that this is the point that more liters collected throughout the Region of Murcia.
The remaining points with the highest incidence in these first eight months have been the Day of Peak Mall (980 liters), Cenit Mall (930 liters), Day of the Media Room (625 liters), the Market Day Avenue Juan Carlos I (430 liters), the Day Street Artist Market Portela (420 liters), and local social de Barrio Peral (415 liters), Garden City (370 liters) and Alum (290 liters).
The Councillor for Environment, Isaiah Camarzana, thanked the cooperation of citizens with their act of not throwing the used oil into the sink and take it to the nearest collection points prevent the contamination of sewage and sewage networks.
Camarzana commented that although the numbers are high at the regional level, more needs to be aware of many citizens.

This system used oil collection was launched in the municipality of Cartagena in February 2008 through an agreement with AERT and the Ministry of Environment of the Autonomous Community.
The containers are orange and are located in local neighborhood associations, supermarkets and shopping centers.
