TRUANCY AND CAMPAIGN DATA sensitization "N

As pointed out by Joseph Marotta, from the Department of Education, works to ensure that all children aged 6 to 16 years get an education that allows them to face the future, this will work with all schools in municipality that teach compulsory schooling.

In the municipality of Cartagena, there are 55 centers and Primary Education, 15 public secondary schools and 15 aided schools where they taught Kindergarten, Primary and / or secondary schools, which are the subject of our attention, taught in all their compulsory education.

To achieve greater effectiveness at work and more personal attention, we made a division of the municipality by action units, being assigned a teacher to each of them, so that schools have a person of reference.

2.009/10 In the past year the census population in this age range was from a total of 25,706.

The statistical data of past course work, indicate that we have reduced by 0.52% the rate of truancy in the municipality, may seem an insignificant figure, but results in 117 fewer students than last year during the last academic year 2009 / 10, the total number of absentee children has been detected 672 in the municipality of Cartagena (2.61% of the population of compulsory school age), so we can conclude that a year truancy has decreased our municipality.

The main features presented by these children are:

"The age range where truancy is higher, is between 14 and 16, being essentially repeaters in the first and second year of that in this age range is within the 44.64% of the population served.

The lower absentee-owned, in general, very different social and ethnic groups and socio-familial types.

"Most have a history of very poor schooling, introducing delay and failure rates, thus requiring greater family involvement and school more personalized attention.

"They show unmotivated and disinterested, do not participate in class, and commitment to studies is lacking.

This causes them to reject the school and have inappropriate behavior, sometimes acting as distorting elements in the classroom, annoying teachers and other students.

"They have trouble coping with stress and anxiety (especially at the time of the return to school), have low self-esteem and social skills deficits, so they are easily influenced by their reference group, which sometimes generates to be accepted by their peer group they repeat behaviors: truancy, use of snuff, alcohol, etc..

"Some of the absentee children lack the basic materials and have no textbooks or school supplies, so from the EPE aid is managed and remedial education textbooks (through the Bank of Textbooks used) to ensure equal opportunities.

Common to all families of children absentee is the lack of appreciation of the school and a small interest in the knowledge they can pass the school for their children and indifference of parents to the educational needs and school.

Families usually focus on other higher priority issues for them (housing, food, work activity etc.).

In this course began with 445 open cases that are 50 fewer than it started last year, which means it continues to decrease truancy in the town, which fills us with satisfaction as we can see our work and that of the educational community is bearing results.

For a more effective and to achieve value for money, this service continues to be provided in close liaison with Social Workers and Educators of the Municipal Institute of Social Services and Social Care Department.

There is close collaboration with the Judicial Police Team and Social Protection, and there were almost daily contact in establishing intervention strategies and participate in coordination meetings Truancy Team.

One year, we continue with the collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment for the development of Occupational Hall, in this way began a new professional family, moving to develop the Agricultural Garden activities.

Of the 13 students from last year's occupational class, we can say that 7 of them have expressed their interest in continuing their education by enrolling in different Initial Vocational Training Program, which encourages us to continue this task, because it is getting smaller that most had left their training, continue with it.

The theme of the awareness campaign for school attendance is No you do not leave bills, printed in the school calendar that we publish on time every school year and distributed to the entire educational community in order to have a global vision school year and school days and no school in this county.

Remind everyone of the obligation as citizens have to report cases of truancy that detect, working with government to ensure that our youth receive the education they deserve and should guarantee its future.

DRUM TO ANNOUNCE THE START OF SCHOOL YEAR

The next Friday, September 10, under the motto IN EDUCATION AND N AND WITHOUT IT WE ALL ACCOUNTS NOT LEAVE and in order to communicate the beginning of the new academic year and promote the prevention of truancy, a parade will travel through the neighborhoods South Zone of Cartagena, Los Mateos, Santa Lucia and Lo Campano.

This initiative is one of the actions taken by the "Education Commission of the Southern Zone of Cartagena", which is part of the Municipality of Cartagena through its Department of Education, Youth and Social Care and Municipal Program Truancy.

They are also building the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment of the Region of Murcia, IES Bastarreche, CP Hannibal, CP N ª Señora del Mar and CP Hasdrubal, his parents' associations, the Association and FAPA RASCASA Cartagena.

The Commission was created to prevent truancy occurs in these neighborhoods because of fear, style, misinformation, lack of linkage of future expectations with the educational system, among others, many of the students do not continue their education primarily in the transition from primary to secondary education.

The parade will be boosted by a group of animation, and a drum call to return to class.

T be distributed to participants and brochures in order to raise awareness among families about the importance and the obligation to attend school to expand opportunities for social and labor of their children.

The tour will start at 10:00 hours, from Admiral Bastarreche IES Santa Lucia to the CEIP Asdrúbal Lo Campano.

To be comfortable during this tour, refreshments will be provided to participants, as well as the possibility of the bus bar section between the Santa Lucia Cuatro Caminos to the Foundation Shop San Pedro Asylum Lo Campano.

The Department of Education is an active member of all these initiatives that result in educational training of schoolchildren in the municipality, from the educational perspective of the transformation of habits that in this way, pupils are now educated adults of the future.
