The Culture and Tourism Minister, Pedro Alberto Cruz, announced today that "there is mutual agreement and goodwill among all parties involved to continue hosting the race 'Audi MedCup'."
Cruz was speaking at the hearing held in conjunction with the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and Regional President Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez, facilities deployed in the port of Cartagena on the occasion of the celebration of the Mediterranean Region Trophy Case Murcia.
Cruz also stressed "the importance of this ceremony was held in the city of Cartagena for the third consecutive year," which, in the words of the regional head of Sports, "shows the tremendous success it has had on the city during the previous editions" .
The counselor noted that "it is not easy being a candidate for the reputation he acquired the competition, mainly due to the stringent selection criteria of the organizers and sponsors, who select major cities like Barcelona, Marseille and the island of Sardinia."
Finally, Cruz recalled that "this is one of the major contributors to the development of tourism in the Region of Murcia", and noted that the MedCup respect for their great media coverage, "is helping the region as well as Cartagena known as an ideal place for water sports. "
