The City of Cartagena, through the People's University Publishing ZMB-Bartlett School of Architecture, in collaboration with the Centro Murciano Graphic Arts and Contemporary Print, organized from today 16 to Aug. 28, the III Meetings / Workshops Digital Graphic Creation in the Cultural Center Luzzy Ramón Alonso, with the participation of thirty artists and professional photographers and engraving.
The coordinator of these meetings, Luis González Adalid, explained that with the implementation of these three workshops Cartagena is proposed as a new benchmark in the world of graphic creation, through the acquisition of knowledge, sharing of experiences, enlargement networking and collective participation.
Such actions are a necessary complement to the usual schedule of exhibitions promoting local artists, as reported by the coordinator.
It is from these workshops, which facilitates, promotes and encourages the artistic development through processes of comparison, criticism and study, and technical adequacy of the artistic goals through knowledge of different material and procedures.
These courses will be delivered by teachers from different Spanish cities, stressed Gonzalez, encourage the exchange of experiences, both technical and theoretical.
As these meetings go by, it will create new networks of artists that allow the establishment of new alliances and connections between cultural traditions and contemporary today, helping to enrich the cultural capital of Cartagena.
MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS OF CREATION DIGITAL
The meeting will take around three courses / workshops artists led respectively by engraving or design as Juan Lara who teaches the course Photogravure on photosensitive plates (from today until August 20), Paula Noya who taught the course through Animation photography.
Introduction to Stop-motion (from today until August 20) and, finally, Elena Jimenez teach the course Transferring images to the gum arabic in intaglio engraving (from 23 to 27 August).
Workshops with a maximum of not more than ten students have covered their positions, which has been taken into account the order of registration and registration for the selection of participants.
Another important aspect to consider, the coordinator pointed out, is that today, the graphic design is an approach to public art and a democratization of collecting, to make it affordable and therefore enjoyable to a wider range of stakeholders.
For most contemporary artists serialize his work, he has brought new opportunities for marketing, coupled with a greater appreciation, being present their works in a larger number of art galleries, cultural institutions and specific collections or collecting emerging .
These workshops can be the embryo of larger structures for the development and artistic exchange, as necessary as its own programming arts events and exhibitions in a city the size and activity that today is Cartagena.
These courses and workshops are aimed at a rather broad profile of students, artists, students of Fine Arts or Arts and Crafts, students of schools and workshops in painting, drawing, photography and printmaking and in general to people and started to want to develop their expressive and creative side.
The methodology is essentially practical and very dynamic.
This third edition has sufficient resources and structural materials will be provided free to students.
