Mirror recalls the objectives of the Regional Strategy envisaging a change of attitude on consumers to minimize the environmental impact
The Director General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, Francisco Espejo, today reiterated the objectives of the Regional Strategy for Reducing the Use of Single-Use Bag, designed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water "for the purpose of get a change of attitude among consumers to minimize environmental impact, "he said.
Espejo, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the event 'Planet Earth' held at the Mall Area Cartagena Mediterranean until 21 August, gave the keys of the framework agreement recently signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, of Health and the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations, which is part of the said Regional Strategy.
The general director said that every Spanish consume half a bag of one use per day, which translates into 15,300 million bags a year in the country.
The global annual consumption amounts to nearly a trillion bags.
This figure "exorbitant", considering that "400 years are required for degradation."
This strategy includes eight projects involving an investment of 290,000 euros, and includes initiatives such as the 'Tribolsa' reusable bag solidarity 'Le sac and the bag of 15 applications, among others.
