The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has been pessimistic to take stock of the first half year of the crisis and how this has affected the city of Cartagena, ensuring that have been hard and not see light at the end of the tunnel, with coming months which will be even more difficult if possible.
According to the mayor, City Council priority now is to meet the payments, payroll and social care spending for the needy, but in other areas and actions will have to make cuts, a reflection of which has led out the central government to local authorities.
Barreiro pointed out that Cartagena will stop collecting 18 million euros this year, which makes it very difficult to implement self-financed activities, so that only actions performed are subsidized by another administration.
