Early next year, the municipality of Cartagena have a Women's Business Incubator, located in the area of Mandarache.
This morning, Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has laid the foundation of the work, accompanied by the Minister of Social Policy, Women and Immigration, Joaquín Bascuñana, director of the Institute for Women in the region, Teresa Moreno, Councilman Trade and Employment, Javier Herrero and the Councillor for Women, Rosario Montero.
Bascuñana reported that the period of execution of the project is six months and its budget amounts to 590,000 euros, provided by the Institute of Women of the Region of Murcia to the City of Cartagena, which will address the construction and equipping of local, with an area of 534 m2.
The Women's Business Incubator is designed as a tool for the creation and consolidation of firms, endowed with a physical structure and support services.
Its operation is based on close and continuous collaboration between the organization of nursery and women entrepreneurs.
With these new facilities, said the adviser, the network of business incubators for women in the Region will be composed of seven units, four of which are already underway (Cotillas Towers, Alhama de Murcia, Bullas-Commonwealth of Services Mula River Social and Torre Pacheco) and three under construction (Yecla, in the absence of equipment, Cartagena and Puerto Lumbreras).
All have been financed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia with European funds.
To date, in his year and a half of operation, 41 companies were created after being served 233 women involved.
CORPORATE WOMEN IN CARTAGENA
The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, stressed that Cartagena has been a pointer to the council called Self-Employment Programme for Women.
This project was carried out for twelve years and has been exported to other municipalities. With this initiative, he stressed, is to accompany women who have an idea, or contributions, in market research procedures and the first steps of the infrastructure to start a business.
Over the years, more than 70 companies which have set the women in the city of Cartagena
help from City Hall, 11 of which have been launched throughout the year 2010.
The new business incubator for women will go to common services used by visitors during the maturation period of the business, implementation and autonomy of the business.
Ultimately, added the mayor, is to accompany the idea in its early stages, giving support from the viewpoint of financial, accounting, as well as location and staff.
