The Director General of Roads of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, Jose Guijarro, and District Councillor for the City of Cartagena, María Dolores García Nieto, today inaugurated the work on improving the road RM-332, which connects the municipalities of Cartagena and Mazarrón, in which the Autonomous Community has undertaken the renovation of crossing the Rambla de Perín, avoiding potential problems of flooding at the height of the deputation Cartagena de Cuesta Blanca.

This is a work that will improve communications between the towns of Cartagena and Mazarrón Fuente à lamo, and help reduce the risk of accidents by an overall investment of over € 600,000 through two projects, conditioning and lighting that will allow a more comfortable and fluid movement, said the director general of Roads.

The works have involved the construction of a section of way on the Rambla de Perino, who, in case of heavy rains will help prevent overflow of the channel and, therefore, the flooding of the road, increasing safety during the movement for more than 1.7 million vehicles that travel this road annually.

Specifically, the upgrading works have involved raising the grade of the road at the junction of the Rambla de Perín, and implementation of an underpass that will allow adequate water pipeline, avoiding possible flooding.

In addition, works have also implicated the paving and construction of sidewalks on both sides of the avenue, providing suitable conditions of traffic, both vehicles and pedestrians.

Renewal "N OF LIGHTING" N

Among the actions that have been carried out, also emphasizes improving the lighting on this road through the installation of 100 new low-energy lamps, which improve the visibility during night driving, and also vertical signs, horizontal and markings, all with the aim of reducing the accident rate.

The lighting of the new lighting system will be held tonight, coinciding with the festivities of the town.

This action is part of the Road Maintenance Plan in the Region of Murcia, to improve the safety of the paths.
