After two years of operation and after a first campaign linked to the inauguration of the project, with the slogan "Ready to try? And History in the open, the Roman Theatre has decided a change of air getting to contest a second season of transmission for renewal of the slogan and image.
The winning idea will be the basis for the next campaign, which aims to strengthen the identity of the monumental and improve the image of promotion.
Moreover, from the technical point of view will develop creativity, idea and concept with a brief summary, using a graphical format oriented advertising in magazines, newspapers, billboards, etc.
The campaign will spread, as well as in the Region of Murcia, Almería, Albacete, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona and Madrid.
The procurement budget is $ 10,000 and the deadline for submission of tenders will be until 13.00 hours on 17 September, at the offices of Foundation of the Roman Theatre in Cartagena, located on the Museo del Teatro Romano Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
MA S VISITED THE MONUMENT
The monumental Roman Theatre has become an important cultural landmark and tourist, both in numbers of visitors as the various awards at national and European level.
In this sense, it is noteworthy that recently received the Europa Nostra Grand Prix 2010 in the category of conservation.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize the most outstanding initiatives in the European cultural heritage sector in order to stimulate the exchange of knowledge and experience, and encourage similar initiatives through the Power of Example.
The jury noted the project to restore the Roman Theatre in Cartagena by the integration of the monument in the urban fabric and its proper conservation and exhibition of educational and cultural purposes.
In the same category were also Grand Prix, the College of Bernardine of Paris and the New Museum in Berlin.
Since its inauguration on July 11, 2008, until June 30, 2010 have visited the Theatre Museum and 288,012 people (81,180 people in 2008, 137,764 in 2009 and 69,092 visitors so far in 2010).
Regarding the number of visitors counted in the first six months of 2010, a significant percentage is for individual visits, 67%, while 32% of group visits.
Regarding the origin of visitors by 73% are national and 27% of the European level.
TWO YEARS flurry
El Museo del Teatro Romano de Cartagena, despite its recent opening on July 11, 2008, has had a major program of activities.
Among these, the implementation of the Center for the Study of Roman architecture, which has meant, in addition to the assembly room documentation, which houses all the information generated in the twenty years of involvement in the Monument and the five-year performance restoration and architectural accessibility for consultation by certified investigators and other research groups.
It has also signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Murcia, in particular the area of Archaeology Ã, both institutions to promote scientific research in archeology and Roman architecture.
As part of this collaboration was organized in May 2009, the International Symposium on the frons scaenae Roman theater architecture, which brought together more than twenty institutions of the European level, the proceedings will come to light this year.
In this line of work, is forming a library specialist at the Museum of Classical Archaeology and especially in Roman architecture, Roman theaters, restoration of ancient monuments ... etc.
This is a new fund literature that starts with the opening of the Museum in 2008 and is being increased, with donations from various researchers, and exchange with other libraries and research centers.
Apart from the scientific, the museum is involved in all the city events such as Easter, Mucho Mas Mayo Festival, La Mar de Musica, the Med Cup and the celebrations of the Carthaginians and Romans, to participate actively encouraging them in a Open House linked to these events, so it works with cultural spaces in the program of temporary exhibitions, classical concerts, literary events and tourism promotion.
The Foundation manages the Roman Theatre, therefore, all the cultural, administrative, technical, economic and conservation of archaeological remains and the maintenance of the Museum.
It also encourages cultural promotion through exhibitions, publications, conferences and other activities, promoting its culture.
Today, the Theatre Museum and have become the main engine of cultural tourism development in the region, helping not only to finance the museum itself, but also generate wealth in their immediate environment.
