Under the provisions of the Municipal Environmental Protection against noise and vibration, the local police has started the campaign Noise Control of Motorcycles and Mopeds, up from 9 to 31 July in a first phase, covering the area of Cartagena Center (Union City Round, Alfonso XIII, Royal Plaza Mall and Bastarreche).
In subsequent phases will extend to Quarries, Mills Marfagones, Los Dolores, San José Obrero, Los Barreros, New Cartagena, Barrio Peral, Torre Ciega, St. Lucia, among others.
The main objective is to prevent excessive noise from this type of vehicles with silencers and exhaust systems altered.
In addition, we have chosen this summer in which the habits and customs, influenced by the weather, make these noises are more noticeable and stronger impact on the rest of the neighbors.
This first phase will be continued to the next step planned by regular service every day and in all places where it has presence and local police powers of Cartagena.
Measurements shall be performed by specialized agents in the field, if necessary by the corresponding charge and can reach even to the detention of the vehicle.
