On the occasion of the celebration, on Sunday 29 April, of the European Day of Intergenerational Solidarity, the City of Cartagena, has joined this commemoration, carrying out two activities this week, in collaboration with the ISEN University Center, to exchange experiences and experiences between generations of young and old.

On Friday, April 27, the second activity took place with the assistance of a group of 15 students from the Basic Vocational Training modules at the Day Care Center of Los Dolores.

These have been received by the elderly people of the center, as well as by the elderly of the Day Center of Algar, who moved to participate in the activity.

Both groups made a large mural, with paper, paintings and rubber eva, with stamping of their hands under the slogan "The tree of life we ​​all formed, young and old", and exchanged some anecdotes and experiences.

The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, wanted to share this experience with the elderly of both daycare centers, participating in the activity and stamping her hand on the mural, together with the elderly, young people, directors of the centers, professor of ISEN and director and technicians of Social Services.

Last Wednesday, April 25, the senior hiking group, undertook a musical tour, stopping at the premises of the ISEN, to delight the students of this with various songs of his time.

The hundred of adults who have participated in the activity, have entertained their songs with different instruments: bagpipes, chopsticks and guitar, animating the about 150 students who were listening around the central patio.

The Senderista group has dismissed the young people with the improvised song: "Let it rain, let it rain the virgin of the cave ...", since it started to rain during the performance.

With these activities, the Department of Social Services, in the line promoted by the IMSERSO and INJUVE, aims to promote intergenerational relations to enrich links and mutual knowledge of different generations, where the elderly evoked tender moments of their childhood, and young people , they enjoyed listening to wonderful stories from their elders.
