The firefighters of the Fire and Rescue Extinction Service (SEIS) of the City of Cartagena will continue throughout Wednesday, resolving the different incidents that are entrusted to them within the joint-combined exercise that the Military Emergency Unit (UME) organizes annually in Spain and that this year is carried out in the Region of Murcia, with the simulation of an earthquake that affected Cartagena on Tuesday.
Precisely during the afternoon of Tuesday, the group of technological risks of the Cartagena Firemen simulated in the facilities of the old Naval Hospital the evacuation of patients when an infectious leak occurred in a research laboratory, in which two nurses had been affected.
To this end, a device with level 2 intervention suits was organized and showers were installed for subsequent decontamination.
Also during the afternoon of Tuesday they participated in another incident that was registered as a consequence of a spill of diesel and naphthas outside a company of the Valley of Escombreras and a fire in the transport pipes of the refinery cataloged as level 2.
