Some of the poems of 'Caja oscura' have been recited this Tuesday, April 24, in the Ceremonial Room of the Palace of the City of Cartagena.
The audience could, in this way, listen to some of the verses that have made José Luis Vidal Carreras winner of the thirty-first edition of Antonio Oliver Belmás Poetry 2017. A distinction that was known last November.
The simple act of the presentation of the book has gone the councilman of the area of ​​Culture, David Martinez;
the director of the Popular University and organizer of this award, José Macián;
besides the winner of the prize, José Luis Vidal Carreras.
The poet has been surrounded by members of the jury, organizers of the prize and lovers of poetry who wanted to know the work of Vidal and take one of the copies of 'Dark Box' signed by the author.
The mayor of the Culture area, David Martínez, congratulated José Luis Vidal for his work.
The councilor recalled that in this edition of the award were presented 102 authors from various countries, especially Hispanic Americans "The Antonio Oliver Belmás Poetry Prize is the most important in the region of Murcia and one of the most important in Spain", said Martínez
The winner has received a grant of 5,000 euros, in addition to publishing his work by the Pre-Textos publishing house.
The author has explained the metaphor of the title 'Dark Box' that gives name to his book, "it is a childhood memory, that wonderful toy that was the shoe box with ballpoint holes to breathe silkworms.

The book of poems 'Caja Oscura' is structured in three different parts.
The three parts correspond to three different dimensions of the silkworm: caterpillar, pupa and imago.
From each of these parts, the attendees have chosen some poems to recite in the presentation.
The presentation has ended with the symbolic act of José Luis Vidal Carreras putting his book on a mountain of books that had been winners in previous editions.
