Alfonso Martínez Baños criticizes that while the municipalities of Spain, regardless of political color, are demanding from the Ministry of Finance that the surpluses can be invested, these three parties vote against the surplus of the Cartagena City Council being spent on infrastructure, amortize the debt and pay outstanding bills
The Secretary of Municipal Policy of the PSRM and regional deputy, Alfonso Martínez Baños, has denounced that Citizen Movement, Popular Party and Podemos have come together again "to put sticks in the wheel to the governance of the City of Cartagena."
Martínez Baños made these statements after MC, PP and Podemos voted against the surplus of the Cartagena town hall can be spent on works, in repaying debt and pay outstanding bills.
"When all the municipalism of Spain, regardless of political color, are claiming before the Ministry of Finance that the surpluses can be reinvested, these parties come together to prevent the City of Cartagena, which had 12 million surplus in 2017, from doing so. ", he pointed out.
The Socialist leader explained that, with this money, the City Council intends to pay outstanding bills amounting to 5 million euros, dedicate 4.5 million to the repayment of outstanding debt, and invest 2.5 million in infrastructure needed in the municipality from Cartagena.
"At the moment this can not be so because these parties have voted against this initiative, and this, rather than harm the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and her government, who is harming the neighbors of Cartagena", has indicated.
"Beyond rifirrafes on television, the only truth is that PP and MC ally and harm the citizens of Cartagena, and only stage their brawls looking for their golden minute," he concluded.
